The Accommodation

Gwelfor guest house in the coastal village of Llwyngwril near Dolgellau offers relaxing and peaceful guest house accommodation with a sea view in the spectacular Snowdonia National Park. Relax in our comfortable lounge and simply enjoy the spectacular views over Cardigan Bay and towards Bardsey Island (dolphins can usually be seen during the summer), or just sit and read the book that your busy schedule has not yet allowed you to do.

Take your time over our excellent home cooked meals (using local produce when available) in our dining room, which also overlooks the bay and finish with coffee and mints in the lounge. Simply relax and enjoy the end of the evening. We can cater for vegetarians with prior notice.

Our five, spacious individually decorated bedrooms, catering for single, double/twin and family rooms, all offer either views of the bay or the foothills of Cader Idris. All bedrooms have tea and coffee facilities, are centrally heated and double glazed. 3 rooms have TV.

And for the less able we have a stannah stair lift to the first floor.

We have a large private car park and we also offer drying and ironing facilities, and packed lunches when requested.

So whether an overnight stay, short break or family holiday your comfort and enjoyment is our main concern.

The Area

Gwelfor is the perfect location for a holiday or short break in Wales that combines the sea and coast of Cardigan Bay, with the lakes and mountains of Snowdonia. There are numerous places to visit in the area including the Talyllyn Steam Railway, Portmeirion Village, and Harlech Castle to name but a few. This part of Wales is also ideal for walking, or just relaxing in the peace and tranquility that this part of Snowdonia provides.

Gwelfor can be reached by road, bus or train (there is a railway station in Llwyngwril).
